Anyone can do a hotel bar – with us you can expect the HANAU A GO-GO, an independent, atmospheric bar with a cult character that allows our guests to spend a lively evening with cool drinks
and good music in a cozy ambience. Smoking is also permitted here, but this need not deter non-smokers as the bar has a powerful ventilation system. You can access the HANAU A GO-GO directly
via our hotel corridor.
The decoration of the bar is inspired by the roaring sixties, when Hanau enjoyed a nationwide reputation as the "Hessian St Pauli" and stars and starlets from all over the world flocked to
the city's countless rock bars. And so there are countless photos and relics from Hanau's rocking history in the bar, which is briefly described below. And last but not least: Hanau's
smallest stage also hosts live music, readings and cabaret events from time to time! So: Hanau Rock City - the legend lives on!
Further information, a drinks menu and the current opening times can be found on the HANAU A GO-GO website – hanauagogo.de
Would you like to combine your stay at the hotel with your own event? The HANAU A GO-GO can also be hired - for example for:

In the post-war years, over 30,000 American conscripts were stationed in Hanau - soldiers from all walks of life, including countless musicians, artists, intellectuals and lateral thinkers.
With their boundless appetite for leisure and their strong dollar, the GIs soon had more and more nightclubs and music bars springing up like mushrooms in the city. And these became rapidly
welcome meeting places for Hanau's youth and for pop culture celebrities from Germany and abroad, who soon flocked to the city's stages.
A nationally significant music scene quickly developed in Hanau, the small town on the Main and Kinzig rivers was characterised by red light and rock'n'roll and soon enjoyed the sinful
reputation of a "Hessian St. Pauli" throughout Germany. In terms of nightlife and pub density, Hanau clearly overshadowed the neighbouring big city of Frankfurt.
Above all, Hanau was one of the hottest tips in Germany when it came to rock music: Local veterans of rock'n'roll such as "Fats & His Cats", "Jörn & His Twens" and the "Gisha
Brothers" were already shaking the walls of rock bars here in the mid-1950s. In the early 60s, the stronghold of the historically influential "Indo-Rock" was established here around bands
such as the "Tielman Brothers" and the "Crazy Rockers", and the legendary pre-punk band "The Monks" formed here from five GIs and soon revolutionised the whole of rock music.
In addition, world stars such as Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and many others were regular visitors to Hanau's glittering nightlife. And on this fertile breeding ground,
successful local music groups emerged - such as the psychedelic band "Orange Peel", which embarked on a stellar international career at the end of the 1960s.
